And here are 10 tips to turning that passion into a small business:

1. Adapt a GROWTH mindset- try not to compare yourself and your journey to anyone else’s… it will stifle your creativity. Comparison is the thief of joy!

2. Master your craft! Put in the work!! GRIT y’all! Ever heard the phrase you get what you put in?!

3. Visit your local library- They may offer free business lectures to get you started in the right direction!

4. Invest in mentor classes and build connections with others in your field.

5. Volunteer in your community and make connections locally.

7. Look into joining your local Chamber of Commerce

8. Legalize your business!  Do the groundwork in the beginning before you get too busy. Register your business, obtain an EIN number for taxes, and open a business bank account.

9. Design a website and a Google Business Profile! This will take time, but if you enjoy technology, you'll be surprised how much fun it is!
